Summer Drakes

Summer Drakes has been a qualified Mental Health Nurse for 12 years, working across a variety of healthcare services including CAMHS, secure/forensic, acute, PICU and eating disorders. Summer has held safeguarding roles, at local, regional and more recently national levels.

Within her current role she is undertaking a strategic transformation project to improve the responses to domestic abuse (inclusive of victims, perpetrators, service users and staff).

Summer is also leading on a national sector-wide project to create a safeguarding safety exploration tool that aims to support the health and social care workforce explore topics of abuse, harm and neglect in a professionally curious and trauma informed way.
