Nurse entrepreneur, digital health leader and Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO), Genome
Stacey Hatton (RGN, BSc, MSc) is a nurse entrepreneur, digital health leader and Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) who is committed to transforming healthcare through innovation and technology. She is co-founder and CNIO at Genome, where she combines frontline clinical knowledge with digital expertise to drive better patient care. Alongside her work at Genome, Stacey also serves as CNIO at one of the largest university hospitals in the UK.
Since 2017, she has held senior digital transformation roles across four NHS acute trusts, leading initiatives that modernise services, improve clinical workflow and embed technology into everyday nursing and midwifery practice. Her focus is on improving patient outcomes while empowering staff through smarter, safer and more efficient digital tools.
Stacey began her career in 2007, working across Emergency Care, medical wards and Patient Safety and Quality Improvement teams. This early frontline experience helped shape her understanding of the real-world challenges faced by clinicians and continues to underpin her approach to digital change.
She is a Florence Nightingale Foundation 2022 Digital Scholar and a participant in the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme (2023), reflecting her passion for supporting innovation and entrepreneurship within the nursing workforce. In July 2023, she was elected to the Digital Health CNIO Advisory Panel and later became its Vice-Chair, contributing her expertise on the national stage.
A strong advocate for lifelong learning and collaboration, Stacey remains dedicated to shaping the future of healthcare by bridging digital innovation with compassionate, high-quality nursing care.
