Siân is the Deteriorating Patient Lead and acute non-medical prescribing link at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, specialising in resuscitation, deteriorating patients and sepsis. She qualified as a registered nurse at Southampton University in 1995, moving to the West Midlands to start her career briefly in surgical nursing & high dependency care, before rotating around the different specialty Critical Care units across the region caring for both adults and paediatrics. 16 years within the Critical Care environment, including 11 years as Critical Care Outreach Sister led to her joining the Resuscitation team in 2013 and becoming the lead for Sepsis within the Trust in 2016 before expanding into a Deteriorating Patient Team. Siân is a professional nurse advocate, communication officer with the UK Sepsis Practitioner Forum, previously a Clinical educator with the UK Sepsis Trust and was a co-author of the UKST Sepsis Manual – 5th edition (2019).
