Registered learning disability nurse, Landermeads Nursing Home

Being a social care nurse has enabled me to explore an alternative route into nursing and celebrate the complexities and opportunities that nursing in social care offers. The role of a social care nurse is dynamic and beneficial, as it develops all aspects of a nurse's identity and showcases professional competencies. Since working in social care, I have been a strong advocate for increasing student opportunities and promoting the benefits of a career in social care. As the nursing profession continues to evolve, there is growing recognition of the vital contribution that social care nurses make. Identity and values are at the heart of social care, and the changing landscape of nursing presents an opportunity to ensure that social care is placed at the forefront of nursing career development, education, and professional opportunities.
