Philip Winterbottom has a 24 year career in Health and Social Care, he has worked as a Registered Nurse and manager for more than 19 years in various mental health and social care settings. In the past few years, he has held dedicated UK-wide safeguarding roles for the two largest independent mental health providers. He has authored national briefings and teaches safeguarding leadership to master’s students as an Honorary Fellow at the Institute for Health and Social Care, Buckinghamshire New University. He represents the independent sector in a number of national forums, expert reference groups and has acted as a subject matter expert for the reviews of the national training standards for safeguarding across all ages for the Royal College.
