Michelle is a Nurse Specialist in Diabetes and Long-Term Conditions with over three decades of experience spanning community, primary care, public health, and education. Currently undertaking a PgDip in Clinical Diabetes at King's College London, she combines clinical expertise with a passion for lifestyle medicine and person-cantered care.
Michelle advocates for healthcare professionals to have confident, meaningful conversations around physical activity, sleep, and health behavior change. As a Physical Activity Clinical Champion with SHU, she delivers webinars to healthcare professionals across England, raising awareness of the role of movement in preventing and managing chronic conditions.
Her current roles include: sessional work as a PITstop Diabetes Trainer, Locum Practice Nurse- diabetes, and Sleep Facilitator for shift workers via the Liminal Space “Night Club” project. She is Chair of the RCN Diabetes Forum, leading on initiatives such as ending diabetes stigma, supporting a neurodivergent resource, and an injectable education resource for members.
