Lovelyn Ndubuisi-Okoroezi is a values-driven, compassionate, highly visible, and agile systems leader, currently serving as Head of Clinical Education at ULTH. Passionate about people, education, leadership, and research, her strategic work spans workforce transformation, workforce development, education and training, clinical governance, patient safety, policy development, and healthcare leadership across acute and community settings.

A clinical academic, Professional Nurse Advocate and quality improvement expert, Lovelyn champions psychologically safe cultures and teams, where people, learning, and compassionate leadership thrive. She has led several strategic programmes strengthening workforce capability, including a Board approved workforce transformation programme that upskilled over 1,300 HCSWs from band 2 to band 3. She is leading a system-wide transformation of practice learning through implementation of the Safe Learning Environment Charter (SLEC), contributing to nursing performance in her local Trust exceeding national benchmarks across multiple domains of the National Education and Training Survey (NETS). Her current work includes supporting the band 5 – 6 Nursing Uplift.

As Chair of a Competency Committee, Lovelyn provides strategic leadership for competency governance, strengthening professional standards, workforce capability, and patient safety at scale.  Lovelyn has presented nationally, including at the RCN Education Forum conference where she presented her work on SLEC. She contributes to national policy development through the RCN Congress and the national CNO policy working group.

Her leadership has been recognised nationally through national award nominations including Nursing Times Awards Finalist, Nursing Times Workforce Awards Finalist, Black Asian & Minority Ethnic (BAME) Health and Care Awards Finalist, reflecting her commitment to excellence.

Lovelyn is the Founder and Director of Luminas Veritas Ltd, a specialist healthcare consultancy and academy, she is a Specialist Associate Healthcare Lecturer, and a Florence Nightingale Foundation Alumni. She is an aspirant Executive Director within the NHS England Midlands 100 Leaders Talent Pipeline. Her current research explores clinical learning environments and placement experiences across the UK, generating evidence to advance multiprofessional healthcare education, compassionate leadership and practice learning nationally.
