Keeley Sheldon
Director of quality, East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust
Keeley is a Registered General Nurse with a diverse healthcare career spanning community, acute and ambulance services. After qualifying as a nurse, she moved into community healthcare to undertake district nursing, where she spent the majority of her career supporting individuals and families in their own homes. Over this time, she progressed into operational leadership roles, leading community services and multidisciplinary teams with a focus on delivering safe, effective and person-centred care. These experiences provided her with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within community healthcare, as well as the importance of strong partnership working across organisational boundaries.
Two years ago, Keeley transitioned into the ambulance sector, bringing with her extensive clinical and operational leadership experience, alongside a passion for improving patient outcomes and staff experience. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to ensuring that the voices of patients, carers and staff are heard and valued in the design and delivery of services.
Keeley is particularly passionate about inclusive, person-centred leadership and creating environments where people feel respected, supported and empowered to contribute. She firmly believes that the best outcomes are achieved when individuals are placed at the heart of everything healthcare organisations do, recognising their unique needs, experiences and aspirations.
Her leadership approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration and continuous improvement. She strives to foster cultures of psychological safety where teams can speak openly, learn from experience and work together to deliver high-quality care. Throughout every stage of her career, her focus has remained consistent: putting people first and making a positive difference to the lives of those she serves.
