Karen is a senior nurse/midwife at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust who has led the NHS Uniform Project for the organisation. She has over 40 years of NHS experience in nursing and midwifery with a particular interest in leadership, the patient experience and patient safety. Karen retired from her role as Deputy Head of Midwifery in 2018 and has continued to work within the organisation on a part time basis in the Corporate Nursing Team.
Leading the NHS uniform project has been a challenge but also very rewarding. Karen has been keen to ensure that the patient is the focus of any decisions made as well as the comfort and wellbeing of the staff who will wear the new uniform.
