Jane’s career in nursing began as an acute Paediatric Nurse, quickly establishing herself as a highly skilled and committed clinician. Her unwavering commitment to high standards of care and professional development led to her progression through key roles—Staff Nurse, Senior Staff Nurse, Ward Sister, and ultimately, Professional Development Nurse. In this capacity, she supported and mentored countless staff and students on the acute children’s ward in Wrexham for many years at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB).
Eager to embrace new challenges and drive meaningful change, Jane transitioned into clinical informatics in [insert year], where she has become a leading figure in shaping BCUHB’s digital healthcare future. She successfully led the implementation of the Acute Adult Welsh Nursing Care Record (WNCR) across BCUHB and contributed to the development of several digital platforms. Her expertise is recognised nationally through her work with Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) and the Welsh Government.
Jane’s inclusive leadership has enabled her to build and lead a thriving multidisciplinary Clinical Informatics team of nurses, midwives, pharmacists, and allied health professionals. A graduate of the Florence Nightingale Leadership Programme, she has embedded a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and continuous improvement within her team.
Today, Jane leads major transformation programmes, including the Implementation of ePMA, the All-Ages Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Electronic Health Record, and new digital records for paediatrics, and midwifery. Her legacy is defined not only by systems implemented but by the future-facing, confident workforce she has inspired.
