Hazel Vera Tan
Deputy ward manager/professional nurse educator, Priory Hospital North London
A Registered Nurse by profession and a writer by vocation, Hazel Vera Tan earned her Baccalaureate Degree and Master of Arts in Nursing degree at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. She worked as a neurology and psychiatric nurse in University of Santo Tomas Hospital. In 2019, she became the chairperson of the publications committee of the Philippines Nurses Association (PNA), the country's national organisation, where she became part of the group that spearheaded some of the projects aligned with the Nightingale Campaign (now Nursing Now Challenge). Currently, she is working as a Deputy Ward Manager/Professional Nurse Educator in Priory Hospital North London and an external part-time faculty of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba School of Nursing (Philippines) teaching undergraduate nurses. She is a qualified Health Action Training Trainer. On the days when she is not busy on her work and advocacies, she watches Netflix shows, plays Nintendo Switch games, and travels outside the country.
