Edel Cogan is a Senior Talent Specialist at American Hospital Dubai, where she supports the recruitment of nurses, physicians, allied health professionals and other healthcare talent across the organisation.

A registered nurse with more than 20 years of healthcare and nursing experience, Edel has spent over 15 years in senior leadership roles in Dubai across outpatient, inpatient and home healthcare services. Most recently, she was Nursing Director for the Outpatient Department and Satellite Clinics at American Hospital Dubai.

In her career in Ireland, the UAE and other international healthcare settings, Edel has led operational excellence initiatives, service commissioning, quality improvement projects, patient safety programmes, clinical education and multidisciplinary teams. She has also played a key role in multiple JCI accreditation surveys and the successful launch of new clinical services.

Because she built her own nursing career across Ireland and the UAE, she knows first-hand what nurses want to know when they are thinking about a move overseas.
