Advanced heart failure nurse practitioner, Morriston Hospital, Swansea Bay University Health Board

Over the last 27 years, Delyth has work in a variety of different roles, caring for complex patients suffering from diverse acute health issues both nationally and internationally and in a variety of settings, including the community and secondary care. Delyth is an experienced heart failure nurse, who currently leads an acute in-patient heart failure service at Morriston Hospital. The service won the NHS Wales Award for delivering higher value health and care in 2023.

Delyth was the first nurse to undertake the ‘Emerging Leaders Programme’ with the British Cardiovascular Society, which has led to further opportunities for nurse leaders of the future. Delyth currently holds an MSc in Nursing, PG Dip in Advance Practice, non-medical prescribing and a heart failure stand alone module.

Delyth is committed to raising awareness of the condition and supports in advising and influencing the provision of HF nursing services at a local and national level, striving to provide equitable access to care for people with HF. She is the current Chair of British Society for Heart Failure (BSH) Nurse Forum, current Councillor and Nurse Forum Chair to the BSH Board of Trustees, has represented the BSH on the editorial board of the British Journal of Cardiac Nursing, and sits on the All Wales HF Nurse Forum and on the Welsh Heart failure Society.
