Dr Claire Taylor MBE, Chief Nursing Officer at Macmillan Cancer Support
Dr Claire Taylor joined Macmillan Cancer Support as Chief Nursing Officer in June 2022 and co-leads the organisation’s Centre of Clinical Expertise, which connects the charity with healthcare professionals delivering cancer care and gathers clinical insight to support its work.
Alongside this, in her clinical practice, Claire works as a Senior Nurse in Oncology at London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust and leads on the delivery of personalised care across the Trust.
Claire has been a cancer nurse for over 25 years and was awarded an MBE in February 2020 for services to colorectal cancer nursing. Claire is particularly interested in championing the voice of people with lived experience, developing and retaining the cancer workforce, personalised care and prehabilitation, as well as the consequences of cancer and its treatment, and advanced colorectal cancer surgery.
Claire lives in Hertfordshire with her husband, two daughters, and Loki, a Finnish Lapphund. She has also cycled around the world, from Borneo and Cambodia to Cuba and Madagascar.
