Ayisa Jarrett and Jayna Mistry are Co-Chairs of the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) Anti-Racism Shared Decision-Making (SDM) Council. The Anti-Racism SDM Council is a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds who are passionate and committed to supporting the organisation to be an inclusive and anti-racist Trust.

Ayisa Jarrett is a Cardiology Research Sister at UHCW. As Black woman growing up in Spain, she experienced the impact racism personally and professionally. For many years she struggled to find her courage to speak-up. She moved to the UK to complete her nursing degree, and suddenly, she found herself working with colleagues whose voices were also silenced by racism like she once experienced. Joining the Anti-Racism SDM Council gave her a platform to amplify the voices of those staff who are still suffering the impact of racism in silence.
