Sam is the Occupational Therapy Enhanced Pathway Lead and member of the enhanced practice team at Coventry University. With a clinical background of 25 years working within mental health occupational therapy and most recent role in practice was as Principal Occupational Therapist and Allied Health Professions Lead for mental health services in the Black Country. This role gave Sam a wealth of experience in managing an allied health professions service and providing professional leadership to the occupational therapy team and a passion for service improvement, co-production and leading change in a collaborative and inclusive way.

Sam joined the undergraduate and pre-registration Occupational Therapy teaching team at Coventry University in January 2020 before moving to the new Enhanced Practice Team in April 2025. Passionate about the role that occupational therapy can have in contemporary health and social care practices but also how we work and collaborate as multi-professional teams.

It is an exciting time to work collaboratively in developing and delivering Enhanced Practice across our health and social care professions in order to address complex health inequalities and inform sustainable change and how we can develop our existing and future health and social care workforce to deliver this.
