Jo Marinas is deputy director of nursing workforce at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He is an internationally educated nurse recruited to the trust in the late 1990s and has grown his career there. His work portfolio includes undergraduate and postgraduate nursing education, preceptorship, international recruitment, continuing professional development, supporting new roles and advanced clinical practice. He has completed an MSc in healthcare practice development, an MBA and is undertaking professional doctorate studies. One of his advocacies is equality, diversity and inclusion, which has led to the creation of Scouse School to support internationally recruited nurses, allied health professionals and doctors to integrate into their workplace and the Liverpool communities that they live in.
